Hen's on Holiday Caravan ... The Girls Move In.

Finally it's happened! Our Hen's on Holiday Caravan is complete and 5 beautiful Isa Brown Hens have moved into their new home, managed by Aubrey and Clementine our Indian runner ducks . I was waiting to post because I wanted the Liquid Amber tree to be in full leaf for the photographs. It's taken it's time this year and like a watched pot, its kept me waiting. It's not fully green yet...but you will now get the idea. This tree is a wonderful shade tree but it also screens our backyard from the not so pretty flats nearby.
Ahhhh the bunting. I wanted the bunting to sway from the tree like something out of an an Enid Blyton story.
Mr Picket Fence thought this was not possible.
I think he thought I was joking until I dragged his ladder out. He then offered to complete the task.
I think he thought I might make a big dent in his chicken wire if I fell from the tree. I think we were both kind of pleased he did it for me ;)
So pretty and fresh... I'm a bunting kind of girl......
But I think by now you may have guessed that I'm a cheery , joy loving , bunting kind of Picket Fence Mum.......
Thankfully Mr Picket Fence loves this about me too......hence Bunting xx
I helped ... I  was the cheer squad.......and  I brought tea and biscuits.... see ... I'm a good wife, told you so .. I'm worth bunting ;)
Love it ..... ?
And I'm a humourist ;)
Aubrey was pretty tickled.....as was Clementine.
 Tradesman's entrance.
The Pansies were a nice touch..... until I found out that chooks eat pansies.....
The girls......
Checked everything out.....
And checked in :)
It is official....The  Hen's on holiday"s  caravan concept is now a reality xx

  2. Oh Ava, I'm so so excited for you. the girls are beautiful. is this your first time chooks? i have a great book put out by the Earth Garden people titled "Chook Wisdom", came out a few years ago. I saw at the newsagent recently that they have done another one, probably called something catchy like 'more chook wisdom' i guess. I just want to come over there and meet the girls and A & Clem. best wishes, Jane x
PS. I'm guessing it's too soon for you to reveal their names, or is it too hard to tell them apart yet?

  10. Hi from Texas! You have the most resort-like hen environment I have ever seen! It's wonderful - amazing job on the polka dots, bunting and the chicken wire! Please give Mr. Picket my compliments. I love how it allows the trees to poke through. :)

I'm going to have a better look around now, and I'm a new follower back!
